  • 38 Hour Pre-Licensing course includes 30 hours of classroom instruction & 8 hours of behind-the-wheel driver training. Classroom hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.  Behind-the-wheel driving instruction is scheduled in 2-3 hour increments over 3-4 days after classroom instruction is complete and your student has successfully passed the written test.

  • A LEGAL CUSTODIAL/DOMICILIARY PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST ATTEND THE MANDATORY PARENT MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THE THURSDAY EVENING (6:00) PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS and complete the paperwork required for your student to legally drive with us. (You will receive an email reminder about this parent meeting.)

  • Temporary Instructional Permit must be provided prior to the beginning of class. (This can be brought to the Mandatory Parent Meeting.)

  • Note: ONLY the legal custodial/domiciliary parent or legal guardian can sign their student’s paperwork.

  • A student cannot be late for class, leave class early or miss class. The state requires a student attend 30 hours of classroom instruction. Our class times equal exactly 30 hours.  If, for some reason, your student will need to miss part of the classroom instruction time, they will need to be moved to other class dates that have no conflicts.

  • The 30 hours of classroom instruction includes quizzes which are reviewed prior to the final test. The final test is the Standardized Knowledge Test provided to Bee Safe from the OMV.  A score of 80% or above is required to successfully complete the course and obtain their Learner’s Permit.

  • If students do not pass the test the first time they may retake the test once that day.  If they do not score at least 80% on the first retest they will be asked to schedule retesting on another day for a fee of $25.00 per day. Students may take the test twice each day until they have successfully passed.

  • Behind-the-wheel driving sessions will be scheduled prior to the end of classroom instruction. Parents and students will have an opportunity to adjust the schedule as needed. Once the schedule is confirmed we require a 48-hour notice for adjustments to the schedule. A $35 cancellation fee is assessed when a parent/student fails to give 48-hour notice and misses their assigned time.

  • The final Road Skills Test will be administered after the student has had their learner’s permit for 6 months (180 days) and has turned 16 years old. Students who reach the age of 17 year old can take the Road Skills Test anytime after successful completion of the Behind-the-wheel instruction. An appointment will need to be made with the office to schedule this test (approximately 30 minutes.)  Cost of the Road Skills Test for Bee Safe Students is $50. The Road Skills Test MUST be completed before going to the OMV for your driver’s license.  (NOTE:  Applicants must submit all required documentation for the license he/she is applying.  Original birth certificate, TIP or Learner's Permit, etc.)

  • The total cost of the 38 Hour Pre-Licensing Course is $575.00.  A $275.00 non-refundable deposit, Temporary Instructional Permit and completion of the Registration Form is required to ensure your child’s placement in the class. The remaining $300.00 balance is due prior to the first day of class.

  • A 30-minute lunch break is included in the daily class schedule.  Students are welcome to bring a lunch, snacks or drinks from home. To avoid disruption in teaching time, no outside food can be brought to them once class has begun. For the safety and security of our students they are not allowed to leave the premises during breaks or lunch time.  We offer a limited selection of drinks and snacks for $1-2.00 each.

  • The classroom can get a little cool. Sweat shirts, jackets and pants are encouraged.
